Acupuncture
Acupuncture seeks to restore the body’s natural healthy harmony or ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ balance and is based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approach to treatment. Illness can often be attributed to the breakdown of this equilibrium and acupuncture seeks to restore this harmony through the introduction of specifically placed needles around the body. TCM is a system of medicine that has been around for at least 23 centuries and is one of China’s oldest medical systems.
At The Foxwell Clinic our practitioners use a combination of traditional needle insertion, moxibustion, cupping and electro acupuncture to treat a wide variety of conditions. The below list details some of the treatments we have provided for our clients but is not exhaustive:
- Stress
- Musculoskeletal conditions
- Menopause Symptoms
- Back Pain
- Sporting Injuries
- Low Immunity
- Anxiety
- Headaches
- Abdominal Pain
- Breathing Issues
- Sinusitis
- Seasonal Allergy Symptom Relief
- Relaxation
- Wellbeing
As every client at the The Foxwell Clinic is different and has varying health needs, we discuss treatment plans in detail to ensure we are tailoring treatments to your individual needs. This includes a detailed medical history form and this is completed on the first session, which is why this is a longer session than any other follow up sessions.
Treatment
Before treatment: we recommend you eat and have water or a soft drink at least 1 hour before you are due to the clinic. Please wear loose fitting clothing as items of clothing may need to be pulled up or removed during your treatment. It is advisable to bring hats, scarves, jumpers and/or coats if the weather is colder as we recommend staying warm for 24 hours after your treatment.
Post Treatment: we suggest increasing your water intake, rest and sleep when you feel tired, do not get cold and avoid alcohol for 24 hours. Many of our clients state they can feel more tired after treatment, so we suggest avoiding excessive exertion and do not undertake any strenuous exercise activities on the same day you have treatment. Allowing your body to rest and recover is the best way to achieve maximum effect from your acupuncture treatment sessions.
