Sponsorship
The Foxwell Clinic has a focus on health and well being which lends its ethos to supporting certain local groups and charities that promote this. For the 2023 / 2024 season we are proud to announce we have been able to provide sponsorship for our local football team the Leckhampton Rovers Devils Team – U14 age group. This has been an opportunity we were very willing to take on and support, as we have a personal involvement with the team and hope this season is a successful one for them all.
At The Foxwell Clinic we are always looking for ways to give back to our Community and if you feel you have a Charity that would benefit from our support and holds true to the promotion of health and well being, please get in contact by using our contact form to provide more details.
In the meantime – Go Devils!
Health Ambassador
Our Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Beth is a Health Ambassador in the South West region and volunteers her time to speak with schools, colleges and at careers events to help inspire the future generations about the benefits and opportunities of careers in the NHS. She provides talks both in person and online and can individually provide support for young people looking at progressing their academic career into the medical fields.
She has presented at universities, careers fairs and provided type specific talks relating to her personal journey through the NHS and her international medical work both in Emergency Departments and also on Expeditions to extreme challenging environments. Beth has also been able to provide sessions on basic wound management and first aid to younger school children as part of their PHSE curriculum when they have invited in parent professionals to discuss interesting jobs.
Basic Life Support Training (BLS)
In the interests of helping to educate the wider community, The Foxwell Clinic has taken part in offering training in Basic Life Support (BLS) to volunteers at local Charities including Maggie’s and Sue Ryder Hospice staff. This has been completed in conjunction with local universities offering Health and Social Care courses as well as personal initiatives with other NHS trained healthcare professionals. The team have also offered training for local schools, which is detailed below.
First Aid for Schools
There is a huge benefit in educating and teaching children of all ages how to manage First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS). Our own Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) Beth has witnessed first hand how children as young as 6 years old, have saved a parent or carers life by initiating first aid or BLS prior to an ambulance arriving to take over, through presentations she has had in her Emergency Departments over the years.
The feedback from the children who have taken part in the sessions, has been very positive and they seem to enjoy the sessions and ask lots of questions. The parents have also commented how useful these have been as the children are excited about showing them what they have been taught when they get home. The bonus of receiving a Certificate of Attendance with a sticker is also greatly appreciated!
